Dubai Ride 2026, held on Sunday, November 1 as part of the tenth Dubai Fitness Challenge, drew thousands of cyclists onto the city's streets and introduced a new twist this year: a "Dress Your Ride" contest offering a Dh10,000 prize for the most creatively decorated bicycle.

Organiser DP World invited participants to decorate their bikes, wear themed costumes, or combine both for a chance to win. Official event photographers were stationed along the route to capture the standout entries, which will be judged to select the winner. Organisers noted the prize money could be split among several participants if the judging panel finds multiple entries of comparable creativity; winners are expected to be announced later this week.

As in previous years, the event featured two routes: a 12-kilometre course along Sheikh Zayed Road for experienced cyclists, and a 4-kilometre family zone open to children and newcomers to cycling. Both routes were free to join, and families from countries as far apart as Azerbaijan and El Salvador were spotted among the crowds taking part.

Dubai Ride has grown into one of the UAE's most heavily attended public sporting events, and organisers add a fresh element each year to keep the day's community and family spirit alive alongside its core health message. Organisers say they hope the new costume contest becomes a lasting fixture of the event in years to come.
