Aster DM Healthcare, one of the largest private healthcare groups operating in the UAE under its Medcare brand, has announced plans to build a new Dhs350 million hospital in Dubai Studio City. The facility, to be named Medcare Royal Hills Hospital, is expected to open in 2029 with 144 beds and six operating theatres.

The new hospital will be the group's 12th in the UAE and its seventh under the Medcare name, reflecting a steady expansion strategy over the past decade. Construction will be carried out in partnership with engineering and contracting firm MENASCO.

Planned facilities include a comprehensive oncology centre equipped with PET-CT imaging and radiation therapy, advanced cardiac and neurology departments, robotic-assisted surgical capabilities, an 18-bed emergency observation unit, a paediatric intensive care unit, and a maternity suite offering water-birth options.

The project forms part of a wider commitment by Aster DM Healthcare to invest more than Dhs1 billion in the UAE's healthcare infrastructure over the next five years. The group has steadily grown its hospital and clinic network across Dubai, Sharjah and other emirates, positioning itself among the leading private healthcare providers in the country.

The decision to build in Dubai Studio City also points to rising demand for specialised medical care in Dubai's fast-growing suburban districts, as major operators look to expand capacity closer to residential communities rather than concentrating services only in the city centre.
